Chapt. 5
*Knowing all the facts can save you money, health, and freedom.
-We need to practice "active open-mindedness".
-Checking facts by asking someone who doesn't benefit from
the sales is a good idea.
-Search the internet for information.
*The "gray goose effect" is when a product is purchaased
because it cost more. People tend to think "you get what you
pay for."
-Many brands of products contain the same thing.
-Colleges also use the price-equals-quality fallacy.
-Consumer reports often finds lower priced goods to be of
higher quality.
*People with medical illness are often quick to buy "false
hope" products. They will believe the sales pitch because
they are desperate to find their cure.
*Women and men both alike believe that breast cancer is the
leading killer for woman.
- It receives enormous attention from the media and that's
where people get their information.
*Ignorance can lead to nasty infections and dangerous diseases.
-Being uninformed leads teens to feel pressured into
things.
*History could have been changed if people knew for sure how
others felt and not just assumed they knew.
*Not having the facts straight has led to many wars for more
then a century.
-The first war on Iraq wa started based on a false story
by a girl named "Nayirah".
*The military will deceive the public and their enemies in
order to try to win battles.
Chapter 7
*The internet is a good source for detecting spin if you use
it carefully.
-The world wide web is a direct access to knowledge but
you need to verify the sites validity.
*Non-sense circulates to through the internet. People will
believe things they see because they want to.
*Before believing an article you should search for other that
might justify it's truth.
*There are no regulations for what is written on the internet.
-Consider the sources that have posted the article.
-When looking for a reliable web site look for sources
such as gov., edu.
-Check to make sure the information is current and who
sponsors the site.
-Blogs can be helpful but tend to be bias to their creator.
-Who's paying for the website can tell you alot about it.

I think that you hit all the major points. I find listing an easier way to start an essay, nice job.
You covered what was in the
You covered what was in the chapters but I don't think that it flows very well. I understand that it is in bullet format but the points should still flow from one to the next even if unrelated.
