Through out this quarter I have learned alot of different things about literature. I have found authors that I like and dont like and even some that i have read before in past classes. I do think that over this course i have come to vaule certain types of writings that our society has come to sitck to compared to what they use to be. The reason for this is because i find writings like Jacobs, and Rowlandson to be more creative and interesting compared to reading the writings of Columbus and Morton.

I do think that i have Develop an appreciation of the skill and creativity of diverse authors of early American literature, because writing has been based off of many pieces from these writers. For example when reading a writer like thoreau who was enspired by Emerson, you have an apperication than for both those writers because each has contributed to the other. Also , there is the ablity of a new understanding with their work and how you might perceive it. I have also read thoreau before this class, and by reading his writings of Civil Disobedence again was able to understand it to a completely different sense than i had before. Just because i understand that they way he writes he is always questioning himself and make the reader realize that in order to truly understand ones self you must always be questioning everyone around you. Like he does in Civil disobedience with the Governement. It also makes me realize that in our society today that is one of the things that many people lack.

Develop awareness of the implications of race and/or culture when looking at moral problems and societal conflicts between pre-Colombian and antebellum eras in American as projected through early American Literature:
when I read Jacobs narrative it gave me a better apperication for alot of the other writngs that concern with the rights of people. The reason for this is it gives me a greater apperictation for what people have gone through in the pass to make it possible for others to live in the world that we live in today. Also it is easier to find other writers now that i can use to understand many narritives like jacobs.

I feel that through this class i have been able to get several different opinions on the writings that we have looked at from the class. The ideas that everyone has presented about the writings have been quite interesting.

Overall i have gotten a new understanding and a good amount of new information than i though i might have gotten at the beginning of this quarter. It has proven that the idea of other people have helped me understand the writings better than i had orginially which was a good resource to have. With the different views upon it.
