I didn't think that the last act was needed for the story. The climax was the trial and it's what the whole story really is leading up to and this last act was just fluff to the play. It's like an action movie that's all intense and then the bad guys get caught (the climax), but there's still like 10 more minutes of talking about what the main character will have for dinner. It just makes it drag and is not that necessary to the integrity of the play.
