This "found poem" is derived from an Amazon.com Publishers Weekly review of Roddy Doyle's conclusion of the Henry Smart trilogy, The Dead Republic.
The History of Ireland
John Ford plans a film
Based on Henry Smart,
Sinn Fein triggerman
Reduced to sentimental pap.
Henry plans to kill Ford,
But callousness fades and he drifts
Into Dublin’s suburbs,
Aging in obscurity
Until a distorted version of his story
Becomes an IRA PR ploy;
A farce of Irish history.

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) but I just don't have it in me to even try to write 50,000 words in the next 30 days, over 1700 words a day if memory serves me right. First time in a few years I'm not even trying.
This is one of my favorite routes. A good bit of climbing, but not too much. Had a reasonably quick ride at 17.2 mph average, with some help from another ride I met on the road. Not many sunny days left for rides of this sort.
I deleted several hundred spam accounts, possibly in anticipation of writing here again. Not sure how it will pan out. Hope you stay tuned, or at least check in periodically.
